Srikant C. Jonnada

Founder

Sri moved to the United States from India in 1991 and quickly fell in love with the Oklahoma City community. After operating several businesses of his own, Sri realized the great opportunity and reward of helping other business owners and individuals achieve success in their own lives. As a result, in 2009, Sri began his career in financial planning and advising*. Now ten years later, Sri serves as Founder, Principal, and Financial Advisor of Journey Financial Strategies.

Sri serves his clients and his community, working tirelessly to bring value to the people around him. His success today is a direct result of his passion for business, his eagerness to help business owners and clients, and his loyalty to the Oklahoma City community. His strengths have always been his strong work ethic, the pursuit of knowledge, and his tenacity to keep fighting through difficult times. These days, Sri focuses on innovation and refining the business process, growing both personally and professionally. Bringing the Journey Financial team together has been his greatest professional achievement and is extremely proud to work with his partners.

Sri’s areas of professional expertise include business planning, retirement and investment planning, insurance and income protection, and estate conservation. His years of experience as an entrepreneur and working with business owners, combined with countless hours learning academic business principles, gives him a working knowledge in many business matters. This allows him to understand the needs of the business owner, while being able to bring an outside perspective to address everyday challenges.

Sri is a member of the Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT), The Premier Association of Financial Professionals®, a global independent association of the world's leading life insurance and financial services professionals, demonstrating exceptional professional knowledge, strict ethical conduct and outstanding client service. He has held this status in the years of 2013 and 2015-2018. MDRT membership is recognized internationally as the standard of excellence in the life insurance and financial services business. Sri has been a member of New York Life Insurance Company's Executive Council (2010, 2011, 2013, 2014, 2016, 2018) and President's Council (2012, 2015, 2017), both of which are based on sales production. In his free time, Sri enjoys woodworking, inventing, tinkering, and traveling with his fiancée, Christa.

Sam Patel

Agent

Samit “Sam” Patel was born in London, England but considers himself an Okie as he has been living in Oklahoma City since he was 4 years old. His family moved to America where his father started from the bottom and worked his way up to partnerships in multiple hotels in and around Oklahoma. After graduating college with a Degree in Finance Sam helped grow the family business. Once the family businesses were self-sufficient he began to write his own story. Starting his financial career off at Bank of the West, then joining Journey Financial Strategies in 2018.

Sam & his beautiful wife Poonam have two little girls Maliya & Mila. His family is the most important thing to him and wakes up everyday to make sure he is working hard for their future! He Thunders Up for every OKC Thunder game, enjoys playing golf and is an avid volleyball player with championships from tournaments all across America. Sam is very involved in his local Gujurati community as well as other community organizations.

Robert Cohran

Agent

Robert Cohran is a member of Journey Financial Strategies and serves as an advisor and mentor with over 43 years of New York Life experience. He is a Life Time Member of Council and Life Time Member of Million Dollar Round Table. As a member of the Association of Life Underwriters and with so many years of success in the insurance industry, Robert is a great resource for our clients.

Early in life, Robert spent 8 years in the Special Forces of the Marine Corp, followed by 10 years at I.T.T. Corporation. An Oklahoman for 68 years, he now spends a lot of his time counseling others through his faith. His philosophy has always been to be a friend first and an advisor second. Robert and his wife of 58 years have a son and two daughters, all members of the Oklahoma community. Journey Financial is proud to partner with Robert as we serve our clients together.

Jon Smith

Director of Planning

Jon was brought on to Journey Financial in 2018 to assist in the financial analysis for our clients. He works closely with Sri and Sam to ensure that our clients' are assisted using academic and unbiased principals. Born and raised in NE Oklahoma, Jon knew his passion for budgeting and investing would lead him to pursue Business Finance in college. No stranger to hard work and problem solving, Jon owned a roofing and remodeling company and served as President and Treasury in his Fraternity while attending University of Central Oklahoma. In 2005, Jon received his Bachelors of Finance and immediately went into banking at a local bank in Oklahoma City.

In 2010, he completed his MBA in Finance, realizing that his analytics and strategic thinking surrounding finance could be very fulfilling and prove to help both businesses and individuals. That year, Jon shifted careers and started as Treasury Analyst for Sonic Restaurants. During this recession, there was a great void that needed filled in franchisee business consulting for distressed business owners. His duties included negotiating with banks to secure financing, lease negotiations, and development of new stores. Jon became Business Planning Analyst and then Business Planning Manager with the primary focus of securing financial health for franchisees. Having become proficient in Mergers and Acquisitions, Profit and Loss Margin improvement, Business Strategy, and Human Capital, in 2015, Jon was promoted to Director of Financial and Business Planning on the Corporate Store side where his focus was on budgeting, R&M cost savings and HR Benefits improvements.

On July 30, 2017, Jon’s proudest promotion was granted. He and his beautiful wife Elizabeth had a son. Jon left Sonic to become a stay at home father. His son and wife are his pride and joy. In September of 2018, Jon decided it was time to get involved in business solutions again and began working with Journey Financial. Aside from being a father and husband, Jon’s largest fulfillment comes from helping someone receive financial efficiency and balancing the mental comfort of different strategies. You cannot put a price on peace of mind. Learning about someone’s needs and wants and finding a way to accomplish their goals can be difficult at times, but this is Jon’s most notable passions.
